How do I update my information in the CodeRED system?
If you have created a password protected account with CodeRED, you will need to login to make any changes. Otherwise, simply go through the CodeRED enrollment process with your current information and any old information will be replaced.
How do I remove the CodeRED alerts from my phone number?
To remove CodeRED weather alerts from your phone, call (800) 566-9780; this is the phone number that the weather alerts come from. A menu of options will play, one of which is to remove the weather alerts from your phone line. You must call this number from the phone that receives the alerts. If you would like to remove the weather alerts from multiple phone lines, you must go through the process on each phone that receives the alerts.

What is the difference between CodeRED emergency alerts and CodeRED weather alerts?
The CodeRED system is primarily used in two ways: to send emergency alerts, & to send weather alerts.
CodeRED emergency alerts are set up and sent locally. A representative from the dispatch center, police department, or other City or County official has the ability to record and send out alerts to designated areas. The designated area could be a neighborhood, city, or the entire county, as selected by the person sending out the message. Emergency alerts are used to send out critical community alerts. Examples of uses of this function would be to inform residents of sandbag deployments through neighborhoods, boil water alerts, evacuation notices, etc. You do not have to sign up for CodeRED weather alerts to receive CodeRED emergency alerts.
CodeRED weather alerts are automated alerts that are sent whenever the National Weather Service issues a tornado warning, severe thunderstorm warning, or a flash flood warning for a particular area. Only the area affected by the alert, as designated by the National Weather Service, will receive the message. You must sign up for CodeRED community emergency alerts to receive CodeRED weather alerts.
Do I need to sign up for CodeRED every year?
No. Once you have signed up for CodeRED, your information will stay in the database and you do not need to enroll again.
How can I tell if I'm already signed up to receive CodeRED alerts?
CodeRED is owned and operated by OnSolve. Since it is not owned or operated by Cass or Clay counties, we are unable to view the database or residents' private information. To be sure you are signed up to receive CodeRED messages, simply go through the three step enrollment process. If you were already in the system the new information you enter will replace the old information.
How do I know if a phone call, text, or e-mail is from the CodeRED system?
CodeRED always uses the same phone numbers and e-mail address to issue alerts. We suggest saving these phone numbers as contacts in your phone.

I wasn't able to listen to the entire CodeRED message the first time the alert went out. Is there a way to listen to the message again?
You can always listen to the most recent CodeRED message that was sent to your phone by calling back the number that called you:

If I enter my information into CodeRED more than once will my phone number be in the system multiple times so I receive multiple phone calls every time an alert goes out?
No. The CodeRED system only allows a phone number to be entered in the system one time. If you enter your phone number multiple times, it will recognize that it is already in the system and replace the old entry with a new one.
How many phone numbers can I sign up for CodeRED?
You can sign as many phone numbers up for the CodeRED system as you would like. Go through the three-step enrollment process as many times as necessary to add every phone line you would like to receive the alerts. Keep in mind that every time an alert goes out for your address every single phone line you have signed up will ring.
How many addresses can I sign up under my phone number in CodeRED? Can I sign up to receive alerts for both my home and business on one phone?
You may only link a single address to a phone number. The system uses your address to determine whether or not you fall under an alert, only one address may be used per phone line.
What if I moved to a new address within Cass or Clay counties?
If you have moved to a new address within Cass or Clay counties, you should update your information in the CodeRED system to make sure you are getting relevant alerts. If you have created a password protected account with CodeRED, you will need to login to make any changes. Otherwise, simply go through the CodeRED enrollment process with your current information and any old information will be replaced.
What if I moved to a new address outside of Cass or Clay counties?
If you have moved outside of Cass or Clay counties you will want to be removed from the Cass and Clay counties CodeRED database, as the calls will only be relevant to that area.
