Ken Pawluk was first elected to the Cass County Commission in 2004 and served three terms until December of 2016. Pawluk was appointed to a vacant seat on the board due to the passing of Commissioner Vern Bennett.
At the time of appointment, Pawluk was serving on the Southeast Cass Water Resource Board and the Cass County Joint Water Resource Board, but resigned after he was appointed to the County Commission as state law does not allow a commissioner to serve on a water resource board.
Pawluk has served as portfolio commissioner for all county departments, and presently holds the portfolio for the State's Attorney, Veteran's Service, and NDSU Extension. Current committee assignments include the Social Services Board, County Park Board, Road Advisory Committee, Personnel Overview Committee, Flood Sales Tax Committee and Flood Buyout Committee. He also serves as an alternate on the Metro Flood Diversion Authority.
Pawluk is currently employed as a Property Manager. He previously farmed and operated Pawluk Champion Auto and Tire. He lives in south Fargo with his wife, June. Their two adult children live out of state. Pawluk enjoys spending time at his grain and horse farm near Harwood.
