Within the County it is necessary that you, as the employee, and the County, as the employer, have certain guidelines by which we implement our mandate in law. These personnel policies are one such guide. These policies are provided for informational purposes only. They are not intended to create, nor are they interpreted to create, a contract of employment between the County and any of its employees. Any violation of County policies may be subject to discipline. The County reserves the right to add, delete, or revise policies as deemed necessary. Changes in policy will be published fifteen days prior to implementation. In the event that a policy change is needed to ensure compliance with state or federal law, the fifteen day notice may be waived.
Cass County and its employees have an at-will employment relationship. Either you or the county may terminate this relationship at any time, for any reason, with or without cause or notice. These personnel policies do not limit or modify the employment at-will relationship. These personnel policies do not form an express or implied contract for employment.
Social Service employees are also covered by the North Dakota Central Personnel Merit System regulations. Specific variations between policies are noted throughout this policy.
