The Cass County Youth Commission program is a county-wide educational leadership program for high school-aged youth. The program was developed by county government leaders to teach youth about local government, develop leadership skills and encourage youth to serve their schools and be engaged in their communities. The program was also developed for young people to have a voice in shaping the future of the communities where they live and the county.
To educate youth in the role of county government.
To identify and strengthen youth leadership skillls.
To represent youth interests by serving as a liaison between the Cass County Commission and the youth of Cass County.
To empower youth to take an active role in their community.
To provide opportunities for youth from different geographic areas to know on another and develop a level of mutual trust and respect.
We are pleased to announce that we will be taking applications for the 2016-2017 Cass County Youth Commission. This program provides a great opportunity for youth to learn more about county government and to develop leadership skills.
We are asking each school to select two youth to serve on the youth commission.
Students must turn in application to their school principal by April 29, 2016.
Each school will select two participants.
