The Cass County Veteran Services Office will host its third annual Community Veteran Stand Down from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at Broadway Square in downtown Fargo.

The event is dedicated to connecting veterans with the benefits, services and resources available to them. All veterans in the community are invited to attend and learn more about available programs, connect with service providers and access a variety of free resources.

“We’re very excited to once again bring our community together for the 3rd Veterans Stand Down,” said Cass County Veteran Services Officer Chris Deery. “This event is about helping, celebrating, and supporting our veterans while providing a safe and welcoming place where they can connect with homeless and employment resources to learn about the benefits they’ve earned, and make sure they and their families have the support they need. Most importantly, we want every veteran who walks through our event to know that they are valued, appreciated, and never alone.”

The Community Veteran Stand Down will feature more than 40 service tables, along with a variety of resources and activities, including free haircuts, eye exams, flu vaccinations, assistance with housing through a homeless program team, live music and a free meal.
