The Cass County Commission unanimously approved the appointment of Sarah Heinle as Cass County finance director during a special commission meeting Monday, Sept. 22.

Heinle began working for Cass County in 2008 as an accounting technician. She has received several promotions over the years and has served as accounting manager since 2022. She will assume her duties as finance director immediately.

“Sarah’s commitment to Cass County speaks for itself,” said County Administrator Robert Wilson. “Her expertise and eagerness to help fellow employees, commissioners and members of the public understand the county’s finance and election processes are immediately obvious to all who work with her.”

An interview panel including Commission Chair Tony Grindberg, Commissioner Tim Flakoll, County Administrator Robert Wilson, Assistant Administrator and Human Resources Director Tracy Peters, and Clay County, Minnesota, Auditor-Treasurer Lori Johnson interviewed finalists and recommended Heinle’s appointment to the commission.
