The Cass County Finance Office has been recognized with a 2025 Achievement Award from the National Association of Counties (NACo). The awards honor innovative, effective county government programs that strengthen services for residents.

NACo recognized the work of the Finance Office in the County Administration and Management category. In 2024 the County Commission authorized a Wedding Coordinator position based on the increasing number of marriage license applications the Finance Office received. With the addition of this position the office has created a memorable and economical way for families to celebrate a wedding.

“It is exciting to see Cass County recognized for this innovative approach to increasing community utilization of a county service. Supporting additional opportunities for the public to have a positive interaction with Cass County helps build a stronger community,” says County Administrator Robert Wilson.

Each year, NACo’s Achievement Awards recognize outstanding programming in 18 categories aligned with the vast, comprehensive services counties provide. The categories include children and youth, criminal justice and public safety, libraries, management, information technology, health, civic engagement and more.
