The Cass County Commission unanimously approved the appointment of Kyle Litchy as the Cass County Engineer during Wednesday’s Commission meeting. Litchy joined the Cass County Highway Department full-time in 2013 as an engineering technician. In 2017, he was promoted to assistant county engineer of design and construction, a position he has held for the past eight years. He will begin his duties as county engineer immediately.

In February, the Commission appointed a Cass County Engineer Interview Panel and tasked the group with interviewing finalists and making a recommendation for hire.

Committee members included Commissioner Tony Grindberg, Commissioner Duane Breitling, County Administrator Robert Wilson, Assistant Administrator Tracy Peters, and Clay County Highway Engineer Justin Sorum.
