North Dakota was represented by the Cass County 4-H Consumer Decision Making Team at the 2025 National 4-H FCS Championships in San Antonio, TX on January 15-18, 2025. Consumer Decision Making, a 4-H consumer activity, is an exercise in decision-making that involves ranking four items in six different classes. Classes included in this national event were fast foods, active wear, invitations, dental products, event venues and beverage appliances. Youth also offer oral reasons to support the class placings and finish by competing in a group think activity.
Members of the Cass County 4-H Senior Team were Greta Olsen of Amenia, Grace Burchill, West Fargo, Jack Kram, Fargo and Nora Severance, Hunter. Rita Ussatis, Extension Agent, coached the team.
Greta Olsen received 1st Overall High Individual, 2nd High Individual in placings and received fifth place overall in reasons.
Consumer Decision Making is one of many educational events sponsored through the 4-H program. 4-H is the youth education program of the NDSU Extension Service and conducted by volunteer leaders.
