The Cass County Highway Department has closed the Cass County 31 bridge over the Sheyenne River to all vehicle traffic. The bridge is located approximately 2 miles east and 4 miles north of the Harwood community.

This closure will remain in place indefinitely and the public is asked to obey all posted closure signs and follow the detours provided while the structure is replaced.

This bridge has been monitored for several years and after a recent inspection by the North Dakota Department of Transportation it was recommended that the bridge be closed due to the current conditions. The Cass County Highway Department has determined that a full replacement for the bridge is necessary. The bridge will remain closed while the county reviews options for how to proceed.
