Cass County 8th Graders are Top Two at State Spelling Bee

Cass County’s Luna Gasevic was able to spell "ethical" correctly to win the North Dakota State Spelling Bee on Monday for the third straight year in a row. Gasevic is an eighth grader and attends Ben Franklin Middle School.

Over 96 students from 49 different counties throughout the state competed in the event at the Bismarck Event Center. Merryn Johnson, an eighth grader at Discovery Middle School, finished in second place during Monday’s competition.

Luna Gasevic will now represent North Dakota at the 2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. during the last week of May.
