The mission of Cass
County GIS is to provide an enterprise wide Geographical Information
Service through collaborative partnerships with County staff
and other organizations.
Color digital orthophotos are now available for viewing. The photos were flown between April 22nd - 28th 2004 at a resolution of 1 pixel = 12".
The 2004 color digital imagery is now available for download from the North Dakota State GIS Hub. For more information follow this link
Cass County & The City of Fargo win joint Special Achievement in GIS Award from Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI). See the ESRI site for more details.
What is GIS?
Geographical Information System. An organized collection of computer hardware, software, geographic data, and personnel designed to efficiently capture, store, update, manipulate, analyze, and display all forms of geographically referenced information. GIS uses computer software to link geographic information (where things are) with descriptive information (what things are), unlike a flat paper map, where "what you see is what you get", a GIS can present many layers of different information (ESRI).
Cass County is responsible for managing and developing GIS spatial and attribute databases. This data is made available as a resource to both public and county staff. By selecting the links on this web site you can download selected datasets, view interactive county map and subscribe to receive a county plat CD.
